Like so many other mainland retics, Story was purchased as a baby but grew to be larger than her owner could handle. At 3 years old she had outgrown her enclosure and they couldn’t afford to buy her a new one.
Retics are our third most common surrender at Snake Haus, surpassed only by ball pythons and boas. Hmmm perhaps the reptile community should slow down on how many of these are being produced?
Story has been growing and maturing well since coming to Snake Haus. She is still shy but not as fearful. Hook training, as you see in the video below, has helped her to understand what is expected of her and when.
