Blood Python: Python brongersmai
Rowen is an (estimated) 10 year old female blood python. She is a retired breeder that was very sick. We were asked to take her in by her previous owner when they couldn’t get her the veterinary care she needed. She had really bad pneumonia, as well as a retained shed and skin sores that suggested sepsis. After many weeks in our ICU on injectable antibiotics and fluid therapy she started to improve. Her skin healed, and the dyspnea (difficulty breathing) stopped after a few months. Howevere it took a full 6 months of treatment for her wheezing to resolve. She is now back to good health and undergoing training to become an educational animal. She is quite large and beautifully colored.
