This kiddo is starting some new training today. He is learning how to use a ramp to get into and out of his enclosure. Target training is a great way to help them with learn how to do different task willingly. Eventually he will learn how to get up and down from this table as well. His treat for learning how this today is pieces of quail. We don’t normal feed him this much but he got to have something extra yummy for learning a new task. Remember that Savanna monitors are prone to obesity and should NOT be fed rats every day like some of the other monitors. Hector usually eats our homemade monitor cakes are roaches and we only feed him about 3 days a week. After today’s large meal he will get at least two days off.
